The Parish of Huish Champflower falls within the West Somerset District Council which is responsible for local planning and building control, council housing, environmental health, markets and fairs, refuse collection and recycling, cemeteries and crematoria, leisure services, parks, and tourism.
Somerset County Council is responsible for running the largest and most expensive local services such as education, social services, libraries, main roads, public transport, policing and fire services, trading standards, waste disposal and strategic planning.
Huish Champflower Parish Council comprises seven members, including Chairman and Vice-Chairman, all of whom are elected every four years.
The Parish Council is ably supported by the Parish Clerk.

Parish Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday, every 2 months, except where stated otherwise (for instance planning meetings). Parish Council meetings start at 7.30 pm and take place in the Village Hall.
All parishioners are welcome to attend Parish Council meetings unless an opportunity is provided for on the Agenda.
The Annual Parish Meeting is held in May each year and is open to all parishioners to hear about the Parish Council’s work over the previous year and to ask any questions.
